We have been studying the consequences of joint implants since 1995. These are undoubtedly a great benefit for patients. However, worldwide, most patients are younger than 65 at the time of their initial surgery. The risk of reoperation is correspondingly high – approximately 30% will have to undergo another operation at some point in their lives. Unfortunately, Austria and Germany lead the world in revision surgeries. This is precisely what we want to avoid.
- Up to 10% of patients continue to report pain after knee replacement.
- 30% of patients under the age of 65 require a second surgery during their lifetime.
- Many affected people are still too young for a prosthesis when they are first diagnosed.
- Others are already too old, so the procedure poses too great a risk.
- Some patients simply do not want the procedure yet and would like an alternative.
For decades, we have been using and researching state-of-the-art injection therapies – from hyaluronic acid to PRP/autologous blood to stem cells. The extraction of stem cells is still not standardized internationally, and therefore the results vary greatly. We have therefore developed, patented, and published a standardized procedure with which we can obtain approximately 40 times more cells. More cells mean better healing – our excellent long-term results confirm this.
Currently, MarrowX® therapy is offered in private clinics in Vienna and Graz (Austria/EU) . More doctors will be trained soon, making the method more widely available.

Almost 75% of our patients have already received cortisone, hyaluronic acid, and PRP/autologous blood and now want to try stem cell therapy before getting a new joint. Even with severe joint wear (grades III and IV), MarrowX is effective for over five years in 80-90% of patients.
